THE CHAMBER IS BUILT ON?

A volunteer based organization serving the interests of the business community and with an ongoing commitment to the Fair Oaks area. 

​As a 501 c (6), your Chamber is managed by a board of directors willing to make a long-term commitment to the fiscal health and overall policy management of the Chamber.


WHO RUNS THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE?

The Chamber is presently operated by a paid staff of one employee that reports directly to the nine member Board of Directors. The CEO/President  handles the day to day operations of the Chamber office.


WHO IS ON THE BOARD?

The Board of Directors are nine individuals representing member businesses. They are elected by the Board of Directors and serve a two year term.


WHAT DO BOARD MEMBERS DO?

Board members set the policy for the Chamber of Commerce. They are ambassadors for the Chamber and our Community. They volunteer their time aside from their regular jobs to promote the Chamber’s mission. They attend Chamber and committee meetings and help with Chamber and other community events.


WHAT DOES THE STAFF DO?

The staff is responsible for the day to day operations at the Chamber. This includes most of the tasks necessary to execute our member benefits and programs, website maintenance and social media and over seeing all committees.


  • IS THE CHAMBER PART OF THE CITY? No. Fair Oaks is not it's own City. We are part of the Unincorporated Sacramento County. The Chamber works close together with the County of Sacramento to create a vibrant business community. In matters concerning or affecting local business, the Chambers input has a valuable voice for our business community.


  • WHAT IS THE CHAMBER’S BUDGET?

        The Fair Oaks Chamber of Commerce operates on approximately $155,000 per year.

  •  60% from membership investments
  • 40% from fundraising efforts / sponsorships
