THE CHAMBER'S FOUNDATION
The Chamber of Commerce is a volunteer-based organization dedicated to serving the interests of the business community, with a strong and ongoing commitment to the Fair Oaks area. As a 501(c)(6) entity, the Chamber is overseen by a dedicated Board of Directors focused on ensuring the organization's fiscal health and effective policy management.
WHO OVERSEES THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE?
The Chamber is currently run by a small paid staff of one employee who reports directly to a nine-member Board of Directors. The CEO/President manages the daily operations of the Chamber office.
WHO SERVES ON THE BOARD?
The Board of Directors consists of nine individuals who represent various member businesses. These members are elected by the Board and serve two-year terms.
WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF BOARD MEMBERS?
Board members establish the policies for the Chamber of Commerce and act as ambassadors for both the Chamber and the community. They voluntarily dedicate their time, beyond their regular jobs, to promote the Chamber’s mission. Their roles include attending Chamber and committee meetings and assisting with Chamber and community events.
WHAT DOES THE STAFF DO?
The staff handles the day-to-day operations of the Chamber, including implementing member benefits and programs, maintaining the website and social media presence, and overseeing all committees.
